On Thursday 15 June from 11 am, Lower Valley Support services on Shannon Road, Rastrick HD6 3LD are holding a National Cupcake Day in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s society to raise funds for them. A selection of buns and cakes will be available to buy and also refreshments will be available for a small fee. They will also be holding a raffle and 1 or 2 fun events. On National Cupcake Day people up and down the country in their thousands will be baking, buying and eating to turn up the heat on dementia – while having a ridiculous amount of fun.

HD6 3LD offers day services for adults with learning disabilities is run by Calderdale Council.
You can make friends and join in with a wide range of activities and groups, including: arts and crafts; cooking and baking; computers; woodwork; jewellery making; card making; cycling; walking; music; dance; drama; football; gardening; sensory activities; health and wellbeing; and current affairs. You can get support to volunteer at luncheon clubs, in parks and gardens, and charity shops. You can also be supported in paid employment.
Transport can be provided to and from the centre.
