Handmade Parade brings artists and communities together to create parades, festivals and stunning celebrations. The parade in Elland will take place as part of the Elland Christmas Festival on Friday 8 December and will be a Lamplighter to help guide us through the darkest months of the year and to help celebrate the Christmas light switch on. It will feature lanterns made by the lovely people in Elland, in addition to giant puppets, stilt walkers and bands.
No experience needed to make a lantern and two wonderful artists will be there to teach you everything you need to know. All welcome. If you’re under 14 you need to bring an adult along.
On the day of the parade you get a chance to join in the parade and show off your lantern creations.
