On Saturday 24 March, 7:30pm at Red Brick Auditorium of Square Chapel Arts Centre, there will be a Celebration of Square Chapel by Ensemble 360 & The Hepton Singers.
Commissioned by the Centre, composer Paul Robinson has written an entirely new piece of music setting excerpts of a verse by the over 50’s Creative Writing group and the original poem written by the founder of the Chapel, Titus Knight.
This concert weaves the history of Square Chapel, the important role it plays in the community and where it is today. Ensemble 360 will also perform Debussy’s dreamy Prélude à l’après midi d’un faune and a vibrant selection of Shostakovich’s ‘jazz’ music.
The commission was sponsored by Robin and Jessica Sutcliffe (Founders and patrons of Square Chapel Arts Centre).
Tickets: £18 (£15 concessions) can be obtained from the Square Chapel website.
