Next Calderdale Women’s Interfaith Meeting

Posted on Updated on

Following a really well attended talk in February bringing the group up-to-date with the situation re: asylum seekers in Calderdale – many thanks to Linda Oswin for the excellent presentation – two more events are to follow in March and April.

On Thursday 14 March, 10:30am-12:00pm at St. Paul’s Church, Queen’s Road, King Cross, Halifax HX1 3NS, Rev. Madeleine Russell will introduce the group to Taize, a Christian community in Taize in France.

It was founded in 1940. The community has become one of the world’s most important sites of Christian pilgrimage, with a focus on youth. Over 100,000 young people from around the world make pilgrimages to Taizé each year.

It has developed widely recognised songs and chants. Madeleine will tell us a lot more! St Paul’s is on Queens Road, near King Cross shopping street. There is plenty of on-street parking and a small car park between the King Cross surgery and the library.

It is easy to reach by a number of different bus services from the town centre.
