Skillshop is no ordinary Charity, leading the way for Adults in the Health and Social Care Sector, providing Encouragement, Building Confidence, developing Life Skills in a Unique & Welcoming Environment.
They offer a range of activities for adults with disabilities such as woodwork, Arts and crafts, fitness, gardening skills, general life skills and much more all within our very own grounds.
Skillshop is currently looking for Professionals to join the team of Trustees to assist in growth and in purchasing the property which is currently rented.
Do you have experience in Fundraising, applying for Grants or even the general running of a Charity then you could be right for this role.

This is a very exciting role for the right person. Skillshop is growing rapidly to meet the demands across Calderdale. This is a crucial stage in the development of the Service.

As a Trustee, you will see this clearly and have the opportunity to know that you are making a difference to the people who need us the most.
You would be asked to commit to the equivalent to approximately 1-2 days per month, for an initial term of 3 years (negotiable). Board Meetings are held up to 6 times per year with subgroups (chaired by Board Members) undertaking strategic actions and detailed planning/ reporting back to the Board direct.
Preferably you will have previous experience in Finance and application of grants/funds, and or have been a Trustee of a Charity/Not for Profit Organisation. You will have Organisational Leadership experience, Operate Strategically, have knowledge of Charity Governance, be committed to the Charity’
Objectives and Mission and be prepared to represent and champion Skillshop to potential Supporters/ Investors.
