Elland Charity Carnival will be taking place on Saturday 6 July 2019, 11:00am-5:00pm.

Did you know that the Elland Charity Carnival can trace its roots back to 1926? So in 2019, the 93rd Elland carnival will showcase the true spirit of the town.

The procession will include over 30 groups and floats, the largest in over 20 years. Situated in the Centre of Elland in Market Square, there will be over 25 stalls, fun fair, classic cars and bikes, Fire Engine and MORE!

There will be displays in the stage area from the Queensbury Scout Band, Karen Binns Stage School, Elland Jive Group, Huddersfield Alsatian Training Club, The Anchormen and Mark the Magician.

Come and show your support!! Why not get into the spirit of the gala in fancy dress and join the procession? There will be trophies for best junior and adult fancy dress, as well as a trophy for best dressed float.

The day will start at 10:00am with the opening of the fair. The stalls will be open by 11:00am and the procession starts at 11:30am. The procession starts at the C of E School on Westgate. It goes up Westgate to the top, along Jepson Lane and down Victoria Road. Displays will start at 12:30.

Elland Boxing gym as they will be bringing a bit of booooom to the Elland Carnival procession and keep an eye out for a couple of boxing local legends on the floats.

One of the biggest floats this year with over 80 juniors and adults will be the Elland RLFC squads ranging from under 5s to open age. Elland RLFC have been going strong for over 40 years.

Elland Anchormen are back in the Carnival this year on their very own float and in the Carnival show. They are in terms of history, legends of Elland.

Elland Rex Cinema will be opening the doors at 11:00am on Carnival day when anyone and everyone will be able to walk around this historic little cinema.

There will be films etc. played throughout the day (pictures house to confirm films etc.) and free liquid refreshments for children.

This is what Elland is all about and is a brilliant way to see a little bit of history on Carnival day.

The Elland Carnival is going to be bigger than ever this year. But with the Carnival growing they will need help on the day from some local Elland Volunteers. You could be part of a group or just want to help out. From setting up stalls, helping on the procession to cleaning up after the event. If you are interested then please can contact the organisers with your details via the Facebook page.
