Climate Justice & Communities in Calderdale

Posted on

All One Collective & Lab and Calderdale Council are holding an event in March to start a conversation around climate change. The event is designed for those organisations in Calderdale directly supporting communities on a range of different issues.

The term ‘climate justice’ refers to the relationship between poverty, inequality and climate change. It recognises that the poorest communities in the UK are the most likely to be negatively impacted by the effects of climate change and they are least likely to have access to information or innovations.

It also recognises that when your immediate priority is how you are going to feed your children that week, it is unlikely that you can give any ‘head space’ to climate change.

The aim of the event is to start the conversation around climate justice, the relationship between work supporting communities experiencing poverty and work to adress climate change.
