David Millichope was a school teacher and later photographer. In 2010 he successfully completed the MA course at the Centre for First World War Studies at the University of Birmingham. He is founder member and chair of the Halifax Great War Heritage Society whose members have provided research and support for the publication. The Society was set up to mark the Centenary of the Great War in Halifax.
