The nation joined once more last Thursday at 8pm from their doorsteps, windows and balconies to clap and make some noise, expressing their gratitude to those who still work tirelessly during these uncertain times to keep us going.
This event, which started on the 26th of March, was inspired by Annemarie Plas, from Brixton, south-west London, who was inspired by a similar initiative in her home country of the Netherlands, and in many other countries.
It is a novel way to express thanks to all the wonderful members of the NHS, not forgetting other emergency services, carers, street cleaners, supermarket workers, post office workers, as well as all other essential key workers.
