The City Connect programme has opened a new round of Community Grants funding, with up to £5k on offer to projects and initiatives aiming to get more people out and about on foot or by bike.
The CityConnect Community Grants programme encourages not-for-profit organisations across West Yorkshire to bid for grants of up to £5,000 to support people in their communities to cycle and walk more.
This may be aimed at improving people’s health and wellbeing, to support access to employment and training opportunities or to boost social networks and decrease loneliness.
Grants can be spent on a wide range of activities and initiatives. Previous projects have ranged from pool bike and bike loan schemes, led rides and walks, and free training to increase people’s cycling confidence.
Community or voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations are all encouraged to apply. Applications open on Friday 19 February 2021 and close at midnight on Friday 19 March 2021.
Applicants can discuss their ideas or application further by contacting the CityConnect team on 0113 251 7366 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
