Do you use Hanging Stones Lane? Your evidence could help improve access

Hanging Stones Lane

Hanging Stones Lane in Ripponden is a key access route to the former railway line that we want to see upgraded to become the Ryburn Valley Greenway Trail. If you’re a regular user of the lane, your evidence could help make the case for it to become a restricted byway – meaning it can officially be used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

The lane is currently a footpath but local horse riders have submitted historical evidence to Calderdale MBC and requested that the lane be upgraded to officially allow riding and cycling.

As part of this process, Calderdale Council now wants to know how people use Hanging Stones Lane to see if it is correctly categorised. If you walk, cycle or ride the lane or have done in the past, your experience is needed. There’s a short form to fill in that gathers your evidence and views – and we’d encourage everyone who enjoys the lane to take part in this exercise.

Completed forms should be emailed to robin.carr1@btinternet.com by Sunday 9th May.
