Welcome to the April mailing from Jill Web Training! It has been difficult to schedule this update as it has become apparent that people are taking different holidays during the April period, so we hope you will find this message useful whenever you get round to reading it!
First of all, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to my clients who have been in touch and who have been flexible with the re-arranging of training sessions due to a family bereavement, I appreciate it very much.
It is great to have this opportunity to look ahead and advise you of a few updates. In conjunction of running my usual programme of courses, ie Safeguarding, a range of courses for parents and families, First Aid and Food Safety, click here for an updated list. Please book now if you are interested in attending a First Aid Course in June as spaces are now limited.
I’m constantly on the lookout for new avenues of work and I have detailed below some updates you may find of interest:
I’m delighted to be working with North Halifax Partnership to deliver a Working in Childcare Level 2 certified course. The outline of this course is for someone who may be interested in working with children to come along and find out more about it over a six-week period and to also gain certificates in First Aid, Safeguarding and Working in Childcare. The course runs one day a week from May and, depending on eligibility, you may be able to access this course for free. Therefore please contact me If you’re interested or please pass this information to anyone else you know.
- I have recently really enjoyed working with a charity in Cornwall. They have secured some grant funding and, as a condition of this, had to produce an overview of their policies and systems. I have worked with two colleagues to review their trustee board, their operational procedures, all their policies and have held a session for staff, volunteers and trustees relating to safeguarding responsibilities for each group. This led to some great discussions and action planning. I would really like to develop this further and to extend the experience and expertise gained to other organisations so please do feel free to contact me to obtain further information or maybe you could let me know of a charity who would be interested and I’ll gladly make contact with them
- Working with a different charity, I have held Zoom sessions to support staff with stress management. The feedback from these has been great, the format of a 60 – 90 minute session was well received, and is something I can offer to any group of staff or volunteers. Some comments received from former attendees can be exemplified as follows:
- I’ve enjoyed hearing how other people manage their stress and also understanding each other a bit better
- Useful to recognise first signs of stress and moving forward with things you can change rather than focusing on things you can’t change
I really do hope you have found this term’s update of interest and would love to hear from you with any questions or help requests you may have. As we are now entering the holiday season with a number of Bank Holidays on the horizon, my schedule is getting quite busy for the next few months so please bear this in mind with any urgent training requirements you may have.
I look forward to hearing from you and to hopefully working with you again in the not too distant future.
