New Independent Chair for Calderdale Cares Partnership
Calderdale Cares Partnership, a committee of the NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, has appointed Jo Bibby to the role of Independent Chair following a competitive, open and transparent recruitment process.
Jo will start on 1 June 2023 and replaces John Mallalieu who stepped down from the role at the end of March 2023.
Jo is the Director of Health at the Health Foundation, responsible for leading the Foundation’s Healthy Lives strategy. She has led on areas of health inequalities, patient safety and person-centred care. She is also a trustee at the Centre for Homelessness Impact and has over a decade of experience as a non-executive director at Salford NHS Foundation Trust and Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.
Jo has worked in health care at a local and national level for 25 years, including 10 years at the Department of Health. As Head of NHS Performance, she oversaw the implementation of the policy agenda set out in the NHS Plan. At the NHS Modernisation Agency, Jo led an international quality improvement initiative – Pursuing Perfection.
Calderdale is a place Jo knows well, having worked as the Director for the Calderdale and Kirklees Integrated Service Strategy. It is also her home.
Jo said: “Where we live is the biggest factor in shaping our health. Calderdale Cares Partnership plays a vital role in creating the opportunities to be healthy – now and in the future. It will be a privilege to work with partners across Calderdale, to deliver our ambition to be a place where everyone can live a larger life.”
Robin Tuddenham, Place Lead for Calderdale Cares Partnership and Chief Executive Calderdale Council: “I’d like to congratulate Jo on her appointment. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will be invaluable in leading the way to improved health for local people.
“I’d also like to thank John Mallalieu for his considerable contributions to Calderdale’s health and care system over the last 14 years.”
Calderdale Cares Partnership will hold its board meeting in public on Thursday 25 May, 1.30pm at Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, Halifax. Papers for the committee meeting and further information about the Partnership can be found at www.calderdalecares.co.uk
