VitaMinds – a free and confidential NHS service
Vita Health Group works in partnership with the NHS to provide mental wellbeing services to support local residents in various districts throughout the UK. Known as IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies).
VitaMinds is a talking therapy service designed to support individuals by providing the tools needed to get things back on track. It’s a free service. We offer a range of short-term psychological therapies to adults 18-years and over, who live and are registered with a GP in Calderdale.
We all experience times when we feel like we can’t cope, sometimes this can start to affect our everyday lives and prevent us from doing the things we normally do.
Depression affects around 22% of men and 28% of women aged 65 years and over, yet it is estimated that 85% of older people with depression receive no help at all from the NHS. “This figure doubles in the presence of physical illness and trebles in hospitals and care homes”. In relation to those who don’t access support, this could also be enhanced with “People aged 65+ have an overall recovery rate of 64% following treatment, compared to 51% of adults aged 18-64.”
If you are suffering from depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, excessive worry or low mood, then VitaMinds can help.
VitaMinds works in partnership with the NHS to provide talking therapy services, known as IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) and we can provide advice and guidance on the best options for you.

Migration Yorkshire – Local Migration Data update up to March 2022
We have updated our Local Migration Data Dashboards with data up to March 2022 on our statistics webpage. You can follow the links under the ‘interactive data dashboards’ section to find a dashboard with accompanying video and text user guide for:
- Refugees arriving through a government resettlement scheme
- Children who arrived here unaccompanied and are seeking asylum
- People who are seeking asylum
- Applications and outcomes in relation to the European Union Settlement Scheme [EUSS]
The dashboards include key counts of the population in local areas, provide characteristic breakdowns as well as long term trends and comparisons to other local authorities and regions.
Please note we have updated the ‘people who are seeking asylum’ dashboard to now include data about asylum seekers supported under Section 4, previously this only covered asylum seekers supported under Section 95. We were also expecting to add data about the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) in the ‘refugees arriving through a government resettlement scheme’ dashboard, however this data has not yet been released.
We have also produced a summary of key migration trends from the latest Home Office and ONS statistics released last week.
