  • Include a robust evaluation, as well as activities that support sustainability.

Best Foot Forward Walk – Elland (Calder and Hebble)

breast cancer careJoin us for a Best Foot Forward walk in Elland and walk. It’s a great way to get some exercise and socialise with others who’ve been affected by breast cancer.

On Tuesday 18 August 2015 at 10.45am

Meet at The Barge and Barrel pub car park where parking is FREE or bus numbers 343, 503, 537 and 573 stop a 15-minute walk away from the pub.

Walk or Run to Ell-and-Back – 4 Oct

Elland Round TableThe walk to Elland Back 2015 is a challenging 20 mile circular route to walk or run on Sunday 4 October 2015.

There are regular checkpoints, spectacular countryside views and hot food at the end. This event is organaised and run by Elland Round Table volunteers.

* 20 mile supported circular route from Greetland in West Yorkshire
* Stunning panoramic views over the foothills of the Pennines, Calderdale Valley and West Yorkshire
* Entry fee includes refreshments en route, hot food at the finish and signed certificate
* STARTS AT 8.00 A.M. (LATER START FOR RUNNERS – 9.30 A.M.)

How do I enter?
Register online today!   (rules of entry apply)
 
Can I enter on the day?
Yes, we can usually accommodate entries on the day, but please try to register in advanceso we can include you in our catering arrangements.

How much does it cost to enter? 
£9.00 for LDWA members, £10.00 for others

Where can I see the route and photos?
We’ve put a route map online and have an online gallery showcasing the stunning scenery you’ll get to enjoy.

Where is the new venue? 
Since 2014 the new Start/finish point is at Heath RUFC which is in a place known locally as West Vale. The official address is actually North Dean, Stainland Road, Greetland, West Yorkshire, HX4 8LS

Are runners allowed? 
Yes, we do allow runners to take part, but we do ask that you adhere to the later start time so we can make sure the checkpoints are manned in time.

When does the event start? 

Registration will open at 7.30am, with walkers departing between 8.00 and 8.30am, and runners at 9.30am

5th Halifax Boys’ Brigade Table Top Sale – Elland

We are holding one of our regular Table Top Sales at Southgate Methodist Church, Elland on Saturday 17 October 2015.

Tables are now available to book from £10.

Admission is 70p on the day which includes a cup of tea or coffee.

Doors open at 9am and we finish at 12:30pm

All proceeds go to our Boys Brigade funds.

This is an opportunity for volunteers to support operational policing through the Wildlife Officer in Calderdale.

The successful candidate would be supporting the Wildlife Officer by assisting admin support as well as liaising with the public and external agencies.

We are looking for a volunteer who has knowledge of wildlife and countryside law and the ability to engage with members of the Police and public.

This role is based throughout the Calderdale District.
