New App – 50 Things to do Before You’re 5!

NHP Children’s Centres are excited to let you all know about the new 50 things to do before your 5 app that Calderdale Council have developed in conjunction with the Children’s Centres and lots of other local partners.

It gives you 50 different, low cost and no cost activities that you can do with children aged under 5. There are lots of ideas for resources and children’s learning and it gives examples of where you can do the activities in Calderdale. You can download it from your app store today.

All the NHP Children’s Centres will be delivering 50 things to do before your 5 activities in the stay and play sessions this week and staff in these sessions will be able to show you how to download the app.

Why not pop along to one of the Centres groups this week and join in the fun and download the app.

Adventure World Play Gym in School Holidays

There will be a FREE Play Gym on Tuesday 28 May, 10:00am-12:30pm and 12:30pm-3:00pm at Adventure World, 2 James Street, Elland HX5 0HB.

This event is suitable for children up to 9 years old and there will be a buffet provided.

Bored? Need a new challenge? Meet new people – Gain work experience – Increase your confidence.

This session will provides you with all the information you need about becoming a
volunteer with North Halifax Partnership Sure Start Children’s Centres.

‘Create a Life You Love’ Adult Learning Course at Field Lane Children’s Centre

This is a 4 week adult only course starting on Tuesday 5 March, 9:30am-11:30am at Field Lane Children’s Centre, Burnsall Road, Rastrick, Brighouse HD6 3JT helping to improve self-awareness to improve relationships and wellbeing.

Enhancing a positive mindset with a focus on goals and positive attributes.

Encourage development of the ability to be aware of emotional reactions and behaviour and focus on strengths and the importance of emotional wellbeing and balancing needs, experiences and aspirations.

Dad’s Jumping Clay Event with Sure Start Children’s Centres

There will be a family learning course at Mi Nana’s Cafe, 3a Victoria Road, Elland HX5 0AB over 4 weeks starting Saturday 2 March, 10:00am-11:00am.

The activity includes using air-drying clay which is non-toxic and mess free. Families will make a model each week on a theme of springtime and can be taken away as a set at the end of the course.
