Welcome to NHP Sure Start Children’s Centres latest newsletter for Autumn 2020. It contains lots of useful information including updates from the Family Learning Team and Family Support Teams. The newsletter also contains information on the family learning courses that will be taking place between September and December 2020.

FREE Treasure Hunt

Need to get out of the house with the children? Enjoy the great outdoors? We can help….

Every day this month (Monday to Friday) Sure Start Children’s Centres NHP is offering your family the opportunity to take part in a FREE Treasure Hunt around either Elland, Brighouse, Holywell Green or Field Lane/Rastrick.

All you need to do is turn up at either Elland Children’s Centre or Wellholme Children’s Centre (Brighouse) and request a treasure hunt pack.

Or if you and your family want a free picnic lunch to take along with you; this will have to be booked at least 24 hours before by ringing 01484 714768.Picnic lunches will be subject to availability.

We are delighted to be able to advertise a number of vacancies within our Children’s Centres across North and East Halifax and the Lower Valley. Many of these opportunities have become available due to staff progression internally within the organisation:

 

  • Lead Deputy Children’s Centre Manager
  • Senior Early Years Practitioner x 3
  • Early Years Practitioner Plus

SureStart Children’s Centres Summer Family activities

Have a look at the fantastic family activities we have available at our centres over the summer—Please remember you must book your place in advance!
All our activities have been risk assessed and are compliant with the latest government guidelines surrounding social distancing, more information will be provided to you when booking.
If you would like to book a picnic alongside the activity please do this when you make your booking. Instructions of how to book are given beside each activity.
Alongside the activity and picnic you will receive a goodie bag containing a recipe card and ingredients to make a delicious, nutritious family meal with at home!

Family Learning Team courses are back on! June and July courses list

Sure Start North Halifax Partnership are pleased to be able to deliver the following courses to you at home.

  • Baby Massage
  • Baby Yoga
  • Parents and Baby Pilates
  • Parenting Teenagers
  • Top tips for remaining positive during uncertainty
  • Top tips for managing children’s behaviour

Classes will be brought direct to you online via Zoom. Zoom is a simple app for your phone, tablet, laptop or computer. It allows us to still hold classes face to face but in a virtual space. Everyone can see and hear each other, we can still learn, laugh, smile and gain the all-important social contact that you and your babies need.

If you are offered a place on the course you will be notified by text on around a week before the courses is due to start. You will then be contacted by the trainer a short time later by emailed with instructions on how to join the session.

Baby Massage online sessions with Sure Start!

Baby Massage brought to you in the comfort of your own home!

We may be on lockdown, socially distancing to keep ourselves safe and well. But part of our well being includes social interaction, making friends and sharing our experiences. Unfortunately, at the moment, we can’t do that face to face in person. But we can do the next best thing.

Baby Massage brought direct to you on line via Zoom. Zoom is a simple app for your phone, tablet, laptop or computer. It allows us to still hold classes face to face but in a secure virtual space. Everyone can see and hear each other, we can still learn, laugh, smile and gain the all important social contact that you and your babies need.

We have 2 courses starting Thursday 23rd April to 10am and 1.30pm. Our normal booking procedures and allocation process will apply. To apply for a place on one of the courses please complete our application form. You will be notified by text on Monday 20th April to confirm your place.
