We are delighted to be able to advertise several vacancies within our Children’s Centres across North and East Halifax and the Lower Valley. Many of these opportunities have become available due to staff progression internally within the organisation.

North Halifax Partnership Sure Start Children’s Centres are excited to be recruiting for qualified and unqualified early years practitioners to work in our Children’s Centres in Calderdale. A variety of day/hours are currently available.

NHP Sure Start Children’s Centres have been in Calderdale since 2014 and now have a contract in place until March 2022. They are committed to supporting communities to provide high quality learning opportunities for children and parents/carers and they are invested in developing a strong passionate staff team that work with partners to ensure the best outcomes.

Early Years Practitioner Plus

This post is designed to attract qualified and experienced practitioners that are passionate about helping children develop to their full potential. This role will have a lead area for the candidate to develop within the centre and within the wider team, such as speech and language, SEN, safeguarding.

Early Years Practitioner

This post is designed to attract newly qualified and unqualified staff, staff returning to childcare following a break and staff wanting to get into this line of work. You will be working with children and their families to support them to develop and have the best start in life.

All the posts have an attractive annual leave package including a period of closure at Christmas, additional leave for 5 years’ service, attendance rewards and 2 training days a year. There are multiple training opportunities and internal career progression routes within the different departments of the organisation.

Trainers Wanted to deliver courses for our Sure Start families

Do you, or someone you know deliver courses and activities to families/parent/carers?

Sure Start Children’s Centres NHP deliver a termly programme of courses and activities for families across the North & East and Lower Valley areas of Calderdale.  We are looking to expand our database of trainers who would be willing to tender for some of these activities.

Our primary focus is to work with targeted families around being healthy and choosing  healthy lifestyles, raising attainment and being school ready and improving parenting aspirations and skills.

Trainers will need to provide a DBS processed within the last 3 years and have relevant insurance cover.

Early Years SEND Support

These posts work to an Early Years Practitioner job description and are in place to support the setting with inclusion for children with SEND. The hours and times are varied for these posts and may suit a candidate needing school hours. These posts are offered on a 12 month fixed contract from September and are generally term time only.

 

All of the posts have an attractive annual leave package including a period of closure at Christmas, additional leave for 5 years’ service, staff voucher incentives and 2 training days a year. There are multiple training opportunities and internal career progression routes within the different departments of the organisation.

Budget like a Boss! with help from Noah’s Ark – extra days

Do words like debt, balance, finance, budgeting confuse you? Would you like to take charge of your money for good?

Noah’s Ark have put together a two half-day course that will show you exactly how you can do that.

Due to the popularity of this course, extra sessions have been added.

  • 21st June and 12th & 19th July
    at the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre (Hopwood Lane, Halifax)
  • 2nd & 9th July Illingworth Children’s Centre
  • 15th and 22nd July Ash Green Children’s Centre

Sessions start at 9.30AM until 1.00PM.

Lead Deputy Children’s Centre Manager at Wellholme Park Children’s Centre

Wellholme Park Children’s Centre is looking for an inspirational manager who is able to provide leadership to a staff team and a provision of 37 children aged 0-4 years. Alongside our nursery we offer Children’s Centre services to across the areas of Brighouse, Rastrick, Bailiff Bridge & Lightcliffe.

 

Based at Wellholme Park Children’s Centre

37 hours per week

£30,000 per annum

 

We are looking for someone who has substantial experience of managing a staff team together with the knowledge and understanding of how to support staff to provide high standards of care and education for our children.

Along with these skills you will need to have experience and a clear understanding of managing safeguarding issues and working together with a range of partner agencies.

A Sure Start for your little one at Elland Children’s Centre

Do you know where your local Children’s Centre is and how it can support you in the Covid pandemic?

Sure Start Children’s Centres were set up to be a one stop shop for services relating to children and families. Your local Children’s Centre is in Elland town centre, on Boxhall Road, next to Elland C of E school.

In normal circumstances, the centre offers a range of health services from antenatal and postnatal care to two year old development checks and smoking cessation clinics.

Antenatal and postnatal care are still operating in a Covid safe way. With the focus being on nurturing our young; activities for babies and toddlers are being offered online and include a range of stimulating activities to support your child’s development.

Often the Children’s Centre offers a bag of resources, free of charge, to enable you to join in the activity at home. A programme of events sometimes offers baby yoga, signing classes and many more creative activities – all free of charge!

There is a ‘drop-in’ service with support on a wide range of issues such as parenting dilemmas, housing and finance issues and other issues that affect the family such as domestic abuse.

Currently this is being offered by phone or online.

Last but not least Elland Children’s Centre also has a nursery which has two rooms; 0-2yrs and 2-5yrs and an outdoor play area. The nursery provides children with the best start in life where every child’s individual needs are celebrated.

The team of experienced, qualified Early Years staff; hand-picked for their passion and expertise, provide a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for every child. Learning is always fun at Elland Children’s Centre Nursery meaning that children develop to their full potential with the support and encouragement of the dedicated and caring staff. The nursery’s Ofsted rating is ‘Good with Outstanding features’. The nursery is fully open to all children even in the current lockdown and operating in a very Covid safe way.

Elland Children’s Centre Nursery offers competitive rates; there are no hidden costs i.e. no registration or retainer fees. All meals are included – breakfast, lunch, tea, snacks and drinks.

Their opening hours are 8am till 6pm and they offer full day sessions, morning sessions 8am-1pm or afternoon sessions 1pm-6pm.

Early Education Funding for 15 hours and 30 hours (criteria applies) is offered for eligible 2 and 3 year olds; these can be stand-alone sessions or incorporated into your child’s day if you are already paying fees to attend.
