Coach leaves at 9am from St Matthews Church Car Park, Church Street, Rastrick, HD6 3NF

Tickets cost from £32.50 to £37.50 and the price includes:

  • Coach travel to Sedbergh and return to Rastrick

Admire the landscape of Calderdale at Smith Art Gallery

Visitors to Smith Art Gallery in Brighouse can now admire Calderdale’s beautiful scenery without setting a foot outside, as their current exhibition celebrates scenic artworks of the Calderdale region.

The ‘Landscapes of the South Pennines’ exhibition offers visitors the chance to see a selection of artworks depicting views of Calderdale. Together, these works show how the diversity of landscapes in the borough has inspired artists throughout the years… read more here…

The FREE exhibition runs until Saturday 17 October and is open Monday and Friday 10am to 5pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10am to 3.30pm.

A team of researchers based at the University of Huddersfield want to find out what people think about domestic abuse services in Calderdale.

They would like to speak to people who have used or who have chosen not to use domestic abuse services in the area so if you would like to talk about your experience’s you can contact them in confidence.

Conference of the Curious at Bankfield Museum

Five WaysSt Augustine’s in Halifax is a small local organisation that works hard to support asylum seekers and refugees in Calderdale.

Here’s 5 ways you can get involved:

  • Volunteer your time
  • Donate to the #helpinghalifax campaign
  • Campaign by contacting your MP or signing a petition
  • Support organisations who are involved in Calais, the Mediterranean and Syria
  • Pray for the team, their Centre Users and their work

St Augustine’s Centre currently has an ambitious fundraising appeal to raise £10,000 by Christmas. Donate at www.give.net/20171078.

New help to get around – coming soon to Elland!

A new Community Transport vehicle will soon be available in Elland and the surrounding areas.

Funded by the Elland Staying Well Development fund this new electric 6 seater vehicle even has wheelchair access and will be available to residents to help get out about in the community.
