Circus Starr is a world class, touring circus featuring acrobats, dancers and entertainers from across the globe. It is also an independent, charitable organisation that supports disabled, underprivileged and vulnerable children across the UK through a 75 venue tour held three times a year.
Circus Starr launched as a Social Enterprise and became a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2010. Through its unique network of partner charities and local businesses, it provides over £1.3 million worth of free tickets to children, their families and community groups throughout the UK every year.

Come on down to Orangebox and get involved in loads of fun sports
On Tuesday 28 July, 2pm – 5pm
Orangebox young people’s centre, 1 Blackledge, Halifax, HX1 1AF (next to the Piece Hall)
They are a fun and friendly choir that have been together 3 years and meet every Monday in Ogden, Halifax.
They sing for fun and wellbeing and they really hope to keep singing together.

The Chit Chat group from Elland was recognised for its hard work on Thursday 9 July at the Courier Community Spirit Awards 2015 ceremony where they picked the Supporting Older People in Calderdale award (sponsored by The Leo Group)

Chit Chat runs every second and fourth Wednesday in the month from 1.30pm until 3.30pm at All Saints Church, Charles Street, Elland, HX5 0JF

Calderdale Council is holding a Community Action Day in Whinney Hill on Thursday 30 July 2015.
The day will begin at 10am. Residents will be invited to carry out a community clean-up and bring out any household rubbish and bulky unwanted items for a one off pick up and removal FREE skips will be available for you – perfect excuse to have a good sort out!
In the afternoon there will be a number of activities available at the community centre for everyone to enjoy including:
Face painting, Sure Start Arts and Crafts, Community Garden Makers, Mobile Internet Bus, Recycling Team, Sick Of Being Skint , Employment Advisor, Working Wonders, Maltings College, Tombola, a chance to speak with the local PCSO’s, and Fire Service display.
Summer fun for Juniors with Brighouse Angling Association every Wednesday afternoon on Riley’s Pond from 22 July to 31 August 2015, 1pm – 4pm.
