The Staying Well Development Fund in Elland is now open – offering grants to organisations and community groups who want to start or develop new projects in or around Elland.

Your project or activity should support the aims and objectives of the Staying Well project in Elland.

For example we’re looking for activities or projects to:

  • Create or increase social opportunities for lonely or isolated older people in Elland
  • Address barriers to participation for older people, especially around personal care, transport
  • Provide a health or wellbeing service for lonely or isolated older people (for example befriending)
  • Increase volunteering capacity in Elland

The local Staying Well Steering Group is responsible for ensuring all activities and projects funded are based in need, are sustainable and that any unnecessary duplication is avoided.

Rachel Swaby, the Staying Well worker, and Matthew Scott Thompson are available to work alongside groups to develop their idea and promote partnership working where appropriate.

The team can also support groups with publicity and marketing, and monitoring of projects.

Apply online here… or email rachel.swaby@calderdale.gov.uk

Don’t be put off by the application form! If you’ve got a good idea for a project, ring us on 01422 392708 and we can help you.

Foundations Independent Living Trust (FILT)

  • Ongoing partnership with npower Health Through Warmth, providing hardship funds for much-needed heating and insulation measures
