A selection of buns and cakes will be available to buy and also refreshments will be available for a small fee. They will also be holding a raffle and 1 or 2 fun events. On National Cupcake Day people up and down the country in their thousands will be baking, buying and eating to turn up the heat on dementia – while having a ridiculous amount of fun.

On Sunday 30 April 2017, the Tour de Yorkshire will be passing through Brighouse town centre. We would like to decorate Brighouse to welcome the cyclists and visitors, but to do this we need your help.
Do you have spare wool that you could donate, can you knit, crochet or sew? You could help make yellow jersey bunting, flowers, pom poms, leaves, squares, strips which can then be sewn together to create features. If you can make it we can use it!
The chosen charity of the Tour de Yorkshire this year is the Alzheimer’s Society, Alzheimers Disease is the most common cause of Dementia. The logo of the Society is the Forget-me-not, so we would like as many knitted/crocheted Forget-me-nots as possible to create a special feature.
As the Tour de Yorkshire takes place on the same weekend as the Brighouse Spring Market we hope to create a Yarn Trail to entertain visitors, young and old alike.
To find out more about how you can get involved drop into Wesley House at Central Methodist Church on Tuesday’s at 7pm, information can also be found at Baa Baa Brighouse in Rastrick, Pot Spot in Brighouse and Samuel Taylors at Kershaw’s Garden Centre, Halifax Road.
Donations can also be dropped off at any of those locations.
