Brighouse’s ever popular food and craft markets have a new look for 2018!

The next of the new Artisan Markets will be on Sunday 19 August 2018 with dozens of stalls featuring locally made food and crafts exhibited by Yorkshire producers and businesses.

There’ll be around 60 stalls across the town centre on Sunday – with a particular focus on amazing food. From regular favourites like Love Bread, Temujin and Luddenden Valley Wines to new additions Gintopia, Linley Hog Roast and The Candied Peel Cake Co.

The Markets are run by the Brighouse Business Initiative (BBI), a voluntary group made up of the town’s retailers and businesses, who give up their time and energy to develop, organise and manage the events.

Brighouse’s ever popular food and craft markets have a new look for 2018!

The Spring and Summer markets will now be focused on just one day – a Sunday. The first of the new Artisan Markets will be on Sunday 29 April with dozens of stalls featuring locally made food and crafts exhibited by Yorkshire producers and businesses.

There’ll be around 60 stalls across the town centre on Sunday – with a particular focus on amazing food. From regular favourites like Love Bread, Temujin and Luddenden Valley Wines to new additions Gintopia, Linley Hog Roast and The Candied Peel Cake Co.

The day will include the town’s St George’s Day Parade which will take place at 3.15pm.

The Markets are run by the Brighouse Business Initiative (BBI), a voluntary group made up of the town’s retailers and businesses, who give up their time and energy to develop, organise and manage the events.

A Summer Artisan Market will be held on Sunday 19 August.

Rastrick Big Local – Voice Your Choice 2018

All residents of Rastrick should be receiving in the next few days a voting form to decide which project they would like to win up to £65,000 in Rastrick Big Local’s 2018 Voice Your Choice.

The theme chosen by the Community for 2018  is “Children and Young People”.

The acceptance of proposals closed at the end of February.  RBL have spent some time going through all the great ideas and it’s your turn now!

There are 8 projects to choose from namely;

  • Phoenix Radio – Drawing the line
  • Illuminated Rastrick
  • Aye up Rastrick art festival
  • Bradley wood scout campsite and activity centre Challenge Valley Project
  • Sling Swing
  • Burnsall road play area and Rastrick Health and fitness centre
  • 100 Doorsteps – Rastrickians in words and images
  • Scavengers of Rastrick

Full details of every project are included in the voting form with information on how to vote with voting open now until Sunday May 13.
