Community Transport Calderdale Out and About Trips
Community Transport Calderdale have planned the following day trips for anyone interested from now until early in December.
Each trip costs £10 per person.

Each trip is paid to the driver on the day.
Local charity, Community Transport Calderdale, can help people with their transport needs
Our Car Service volunteers can provide transport for people to get about, you can come on one of the minibus trips we organise in our wheelchair accessible minibuses or you can hire our minibuses for your group.

Wednesday Bereavement Support and Social group at the Canon Winter Centre, Elland
The Wednesday Bereavement Support and Social group at the Canon Winter Centre, All Saint’s Church, Elland HX5 0JF usually meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
This is a social group to help bereaved people and their family and friends to meet new people for friendship, support, day trips and meals out.

Chit Chat Group at Canon Winter Centre, Elland
The Chit Chat group at the Canon Winter Centre, at All Saint’s Church, Elland HX5 0JF was started in March 2012, with 2 members at the first afternoon meeting. A dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers greatly outnumbered members on this occasion.
Numbers at meetings grew and because of the popularity of the group a morning session was introduced in January 2014.
The group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month 10:00am to 12:00pm then 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
Meetings always start with Tea, Coffee, cakes and biscuits, along with a chat, both with new found friends, and friendships renewed.
Activities at meetings range from board games to Beethoven. Other sessions include Quiz’s, Crafts, Entertainers (including a Christmas Panto), and speakers on a variety of topics. Local schools have been in to entertain and interact with our members, bridging the generations.
A small charge is made on the day to cover running costs, and once a month a raffle is held with proceeds going to group funds.
What is provided
The aim is to provide:

– A connection to the community – Help to maximise the day
– A more fulfilling and enjoyable life
In all cases the aim is to encourage a healthier lifestyle for older people.
Community Transport
Should members require transport to attend meetings, this can be arranged through the Community Transport Calderdale car service. A small charge is made for this service.

Community Transport Calderdale Volunteer Recruitment Day
Community Transport Calderdale (CTC) are hosting a Volunteer Recruitment Day on Thursday 15 February, 10am-3pm at B8/B10 Tenterfields Business Park, Luddenden Foot, HX2 6EQ
Visit them for an informal chat to find out about CTC and the volunteering opportunities they have to offer: driving (car and minibus), passenger assistance, administrative/reception, valeting and general assistance.

Community Transport Urgently Needs Volunteer Car Drivers
Community Transport Calderdale is a leading charity whose aim is to provide transport for reasons of ill health, disability, isolation, or social exclusion.
CTC is a registered not for profit charity working for the community of Calderdale, moving around 25,000 passenger trips per year though car, people carrier and minibus transport.
Volunteer car drivers are urgently needed in the Elland and Brighouse Areas.

Archery Taster Session with Community Transport Calderdale
Ever fancied having a go at something different? Why not try archery?
Community Transport Calderdale have teamed up with the energetic folk at CI Adventures to bring you a great afternoon taster session.
The itinerary for the afternoon of Friday 15 September 2017 is:-
Arranged transport from local pick up points (Times to be advised)
Arrive at venue – 1pm
Introduction and H&S briefing – 1pm to 1.15pm
Archery session – 1.15pm to 2.45pm
Refreshments (Tea/Coffee) 2.45pm
Close of session approx 3pm
Children aged 6+ with an accompanying adult are welcome to join the session.
Return transport to local pick up points.
This is a great opportunity to try something new! This session is open to all – any age, any ability.
Price for the activity day – £14 per person
Price includes accessible transport to and from the venue (Local pick up points)
