Flood Drop-In sessions – in response to the impact of Storm Ciara

Drop-in sessions have been set up to address the impact of the recent flooding in the region of Calderdale. You are invited to attend for your opportunity to discuss your concerns and propose your ideas.

 

Dates and locations:

  • Wednesday 11 March  –  Mytholmroyd Community Centre, HX7 5AF   11am – 7pm
  • Thursday 12 March  –  Southgate Methodist Church, Elland, HX5 0JL   11am – 7pm
  • Friday 13 March  –  Todmorden Town Hall, OL14 5AA      11am – 7pm
  • Tuesday 17 March  –  Hebden Bridge Town Hall, HX7 7BY   10am – 6pm
  • Thursday 19 March  –  Brighouse Civic Hall, HD6 1RW   11am – 7pm

ESF Community Grants Meet the Funder Event 

Grants of £5,000 – £20,000 available in West Yorkshire 

  • Are you a small or voluntary organisation?
  • Do you deliver in West Yorkshire?
  • Do you work with unemployed people in your local area?

Grants are available to fund your project. 

Thursday 5th March, 9.30am – 2.30pm
VAC Resource Centre, Hall Street, Halifax, HX1 5AY 

 
9:30-11.00am: Drop in for any organisation
11.00am-1:30pm: 1-to-1 appointment (book a 20 minute slot to discuss the fund)
1:30pm-2:30pm: Drop in for any organisation

Rastrick Cemetery Volunteers – Recruitment Drop-In

Calderdale Council has agreed a new volunteer policy which enables residents and cemetery visitors who want to assist the council to keep the cemetery looking neat and tidy although the Council will still remain fully responsible for the cemetery’s upkeep.

If you would like to be a volunteer or want to find out more, go along to the Tidy Up and Recruitment drop in on Saturday 10 October 2015 from 10am to 12pm at Rastrick Cemetery, Carr Green Lane

Volunteers will be able to spend as much or as little time as they can spare, and when it’s convenient for them. The tasks that may be undertaken will include:

  • cutting bushes, branches, grass, pruning roses
  • litter picking, raking leaves/grass, weeding, turning soil
  • brushing off their own memorials of grass etc.
  • planting as agreed and clearing paths
