on Thursday 15th September 2022 between 3pm – 6pm
at the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre
Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT) is hosting an Opportunities Event at its social enterprise business hub, Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, on Thursday 15th September 2022, to help local people take the next step on their employment or learning journey.
The HOT Opportunities Event will provide information on all the opportunities available through the Trust, as well as hosting a market place for local employers to discuss their industry and the roles they have available. The event will offer guidance to anyone in the local community who is looking for support or advice in taking their next step.
Whether it’s unemployed people seeking employment opportunities, young people or school leavers looking to reach their career aspirations, or those currently in employment focused on professional growth or career development, the Trust will meet these needs by showcasing opportunities in a range of industries, areas and roles.
Faye Gilling, Marketing and Communications Lead at Halifax Opportunities Trust, comments: “This event is a great opportunity for anyone seeking guidance on the next step in their career. Whether just starting out or looking for a new challenge, HOT’s Employment, Apprenticeships, Central and Early Years teams will be at hand to provide informed advice on how attendees can navigate and reach their aspirations.
“We acknowledge that recruitment and retention is a growing issue for employers, so we want to offer support for those who are seeking candidates in the local area, too. We will host a marketplace of around eight local organisations, at Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, to help them connect with people looking for jobs.”
As a charity offering a broad range of services, HOT is in a unique position to be able to help people at most stages of their career, learning or employment journey. HOT has a great deal of experience in; helping people break down employability barriers, supporting learners with nationally recognised apprenticeship qualifications and building skills and experience through a range of volunteering opportunities. Something that the event will help to showcase.
Halifax Opportunities Trust is looking forward to hosting the event and welcoming people from the local community to discuss opportunities with the Trust and offer guidance for those seeking support in taking their next step. The Trust is also excited to work with local employers and help them connect with potential candidates.
