Jobskilla offer free courses to West Yorkshire residents for skills ranging from digital competence, cyber security, construction, security SIA. Courses come with either a completion reward or a guaranteed job interview.
These courses are available to residents of West Yorkshire who are 19+, permanent UK residents and not in employment.

North Halifax Partnership along with Halifax Opportunities Trust are bringing advice and guidance sessions in our Sure Start Children’s centres around employment and applying or jobs, support with applying for universal credit and signposting to specialist services around mental health, debt and much more.

Level 3 Certificate in Cyber Security Practices over 8 weeks
Overview
Netcom Training is offering YOU an exceptional opportunity to access a Level 3 certificated learning programme in Cyber Security Practices.
As part of this FREE programme, you will gain valuable experience from experts in the field, who will guide you through and teach you a range of topics including: understanding intelligence threats, vulnerabilities, controls and professional behaviours required within the industry.
As a FREE add on, Netcom Training will give you access to ‘Scrum Master’- a widely recognised professional project management tool.
As if that is not enough, Netcom Training’s in-house employment team will provide one to one support with CV and interview techniques and assist you through employment opportunities.
What is Cyber Security?
Cyber security involves techniques that help secure various digital components, networks, data, computer systems from non-authorised digital access.

Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT) is hosting an Opportunities Event at its social enterprise business hub, Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, on Thursday 15th September 2022, to help local people take the next step on their employment or learning journey.
The HOT Opportunities Event will provide information on all the opportunities available through the Trust, as well as hosting a market place for local employers to discuss their industry and the roles they have available. The event will offer guidance to anyone in the local community who is looking for support or advice in taking their next step.
Whether it’s unemployed people seeking employment opportunities, young people or school leavers looking to reach their career aspirations, or those currently in employment focused on professional growth or career development, the Trust will meet these needs by showcasing opportunities in a range of industries, areas and roles.

Whether just starting out or looking for a new challenge, HOT’s Employment, Apprenticeships, Central and Early Years teams will be at hand to provide informed advice on how attendees can navigate and reach their aspirations.

HOT has a great deal of experience in; helping people break down employability barriers, supporting learners with nationally recognised apprenticeship qualifications and building skills and experience through a range of volunteering opportunities. Starting Line Employment Service for disabled customers
Starting Line is an employment service which supports disabled people of working age living in Calderdale to find, apply for and keep a job.
This service is tailored to the individual and each customer is supported by a specialist Employment Advisor to prepare them for work, training or for a statutory work programme plus further understand their career goals and how to achieve them.
The service aims to
- grow confidence, assertiveness and independence
- develop important employability skills
- support in making life-changing career decisions
- find paid employment

Talent Match in Calderdale for 18 to 24 year olds
Talent Match is targeting young people who are furthest from the jobs market, including those who are completely outside of the benefits, work and training system and facing severe barriers to gaining the skills they need to get into work.
The aim of the Talent Match Project is to engage with young people aged 18-24 who are long term unemployed and who require intensive support and coaching through a Key Worker approach in order to access a flexible and responsive pathway which will support them to get into, or closer to work.
Calderdale College are engaging with public and Voluntary Community Sector organisations in Calderdale to actively promote the Talent Match Project by chairing and facilitating meetings with the aim to create a mutual action plan with all colleagues who attend.
