If you are interested in becoming a primary school teacher why not go along to a FREE taster morning which will give you an overview of how the one year teacher training course for post graduate students works.

The course is based in schools and gives you both QTS and a PGCE and the morning will give you an opportunity to see teaching in a primary school and meet some of the current and past teacher trainees.

Rise of the Zombies 2015 – Halloween Walk at Shibden Park

rise of the zombies 2015Go along to Shibden Park on Friday 30 October for an evening of spooky fun starting at 6pm.

There will be plenty of entertainment with rides and refreshments available to keep your family occupied and why not take a ride on the ghost train?

From 7.30pm you can watch the spooktacular fireworks display before venturing into the unknown for the Ghost Tour.

Don’t forget to wrap up warm, grab your torch and wear footwear suitable for muddy paths – unsuitable for buggies and prams.

Admission prices are: Adults: £4 – Under 16’s: £2 – Passport to leisure holders: £2

Due to the usage of fireworks it is asked that pets are left at home.

The Hills Are Alive – the magic of the musicals

St. Matthew’s, Lightcliffe will once again play host to a feast of top class music when Royal Northern College of Music graduates, Juliet Montgomery and Aiden Edwards, return to sing some of the best-loved numbers from our favourite musicals.

On Saturday 17 October – From 7.30pm

They will be supported by The Northowram Singers, and accompanied by a superb musical ensemble, led by musical director Rob Paxman.

Tickets cost £7 in advance, £8 on the door, and are available from Colin’s News, Hipperholme and the Lightcliffe Tea Rooms, Lightcliffe or by emailing lightcliffechurchyard@gmail.com.

All proceeds go to The Friends of St. Matthew’s Churchyard.
