NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (NHS WY ICB) is asking people and communities to come forward and share their views on how health services should be delivered to them locally, and across West Yorkshire.

More information here

With the passing of the Health and Care Act 2022, there is a requirement for integrated care systems (like the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership) to develop an integrated health and social care strategy and for integrated care boards to develop a joint forward plan to deliver the NHS components.

Building on the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership (WY HCP) Five-Year Strategy ‘Better health and wellbeing for everyone’ published in 2020, the Partnership has coproduced a refreshed draft strategy. The Partnership is now seeking people’s views on how its ambitions for the NHS will be achieved in a new joint forward plan for the area. The plan will be published by the 30 June 2023.

People can have their say by completing a short survey online at https://bit.ly/wyviews

or by contacting their local Healthwatch by Monday 20 February 2023 to answer a few questions. More information is available on the WY HCP website at wypartnership.co.uk/your-views

Calderdale Covid Vaccine Engagement Report March 2022

NHS Calderdale CCG worked with partners in Calderdale (Healthwatch, Local Authority, and the Voluntary Sector) to understand the views and experiences of people living in Calderdale of the COVID vaccine.

We wanted to give people the opportunity to help influence how we shape the operational delivery of the vaccine delivery model in Calderdale and the messages we share; through understanding and learning what the public views are of the COVID vaccine and understanding any concerns or misinformation that people may have heard.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to those of you who have helped us to deliver over 2000 conversations on our behalf, we couldn’t have delivered this engagement without you.

Healthwatch Calderdale experiences of medication feedback request

Posted on

As part of Healthwatch Calderdale’s Covid-19 feedback we heard from over 200 people about their experiences of medication.

Many had positive feedback about their experience, but we heard that some things may have been hard, they were:

  • Changes to medication;
  • Review of medicines prescribed;
  • Having to rely on support of family/friends to get medication.

All of that feedback has already been presented to all relevant local NHS organisations in an effort to bring improvements.

But we feel there is more we can learn and are now asking for specific feedback about the main issues raised. We want to know if access to medication is impacting the health and wellbeing of the public in Calderdale and how.

Please visit www.healthwatchcalderdale.co.uk to complete the survey or via this link:

If you would like a paper copy of the survey please call HWC on 01422 399433 or email info@healthwatchcalderdale.co.uk with your details so we can post a copy.

Healthwatch Calderdale Survey of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services

Posted on Updated on

Healthwatch Calderdale is working on a project to source the views of people with experiences of local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

They have been working with families on a one-to-one basis and are now seeking further views on the services for children displaying signs of autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or attention deficit disorder (ADD).

Healthwatch believes that in sharing your experiences, anonymously, they can help make a positive difference. They will share these stories with the CAMHS service provider and the commissioner (Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group), to ensure people’s voices are heard, highlighting the issues raised and making recommendations for positive change.

To have your say please complete this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CAMHS
If you have any questions please contact Joanne Douglas at Healthwatch Calderdale via joanne.douglas@healthwatchcalderdale.co.uk
