We are excited that the government announced the expansion of its tried and tested Holiday Activities and Food programme across all local authorities.
This programme is aiming to provide healthy food and enriching activities during the summer holidays to children who are aged between 5 to 16 years old and receive benefits-related free school meals (8000 children in Calderdale).
The Healthy Holidays grant programme is now live and groups and organisations can access the full guidance and online application form on the Community Foundation for Calderdale’s website. The deadline for applications is 10am on Tuesday 29th June 2021.
The fund, made available by the Community Foundation for Calderdale, is now open and grants must be used by the end of the year (2016).
The maximum grant is up to £500 / couple (£300 / individual) and is paid directly to the holiday company.
Priority will be given to applicants who are aged 60+, live in the HX postcode area, who are in financial hardship, have a long term illness or disability and have not used the fund previously.
The grants are available by submitting a simple application form to Age UK Calderdale and Kirklees.
Please collect an application form from the Age UK shop (4-6 Square, The Woolshops, Halifax, HX1 1RJ) or call 01422 252040
Completed form should be returned to the Woolshops and decisions will be made within 4 weeks.
