New Year New Us – Healthy Minds Winter Taster Fayre – January 27th
Healthy Minds Calderdale are excited to invite you in their open day, where they want to introduce you to all their amazing services!
Come chat with our volunteers and staff about what our NEW Warm Space Drop Ins, Volunteer-Led groups and Befriending Service can offer you or the people you work with.
Enjoy some warming food and drink and take part in yoga, mindfulness, allotment and arts & crafts taster sessions.You can also learn about our other fabulous projects, like:
- Safespace – One-to-one support for anyone in distress (Ages 16+)
- Link – Intensive support for people ‘stuck’ in a crisis loop
- & Welfare Rights
Drop in anytime from 10am – 1pm on Friday, 27 January.
Yoga sessions will start at 10:30am and 11:30am; Welfare Rights service information talk at 12:30pm.

This is a unique opportunity for professionals to gain first-hand insight into our holistic mental health provision, services and activities so that you understand what patients and service users experience when referred to Healthy Minds.

Police information Request for potential firearm discharge on New Year’s Eve
A scene is currently in place in James Street, Elland in relation to a potential firearm discharge on New Year’s Eve.
On January 1, police received a report of a parked car having been damaged in James Street in a collision involving another vehicle which had left the scene at about 9.45pm on December 31.
Today, officers have received further information suggesting a potential firearm discharge had occurred during this incident.
A scene is currently in place to undergo specialist searches and forensic examination and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Calderdale District CID via 101 quoting log 304 of January 7 or online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat
Carers Rights Day Event November 25 with Making Space
The event is taking place on Friday 25th November 10am-12.30pm at Brighouse Central Methodist Church. The event is a market place information and advice session and our theme is planning for the future.
We will have stalls from solicitors, funeral directors, home care providers, gateway to care and much more.
Carers can access both refreshments and a warm lunch on the day.
Carers do not need to book.
We would also welcome professionals to attend.

International Womens Day at Forest Cottage March 7th
Join North Halifax Partnership this year for a women only event to celebrate International Womens’ Day on
Monday 7th March 2022, 10am – 2pm at Forest Cottage.

We shall be having a FREE full day of Fun packed activities including a market place with information on issues that might affect women, Arts & Crafts, local Inspirational women speakers and a fun packed boot camp plus muck more!
