Orange Box gets in the carnival mood with activities for ages 11+

Posted on

february-half-term-at-orange-boxOrange Box young people’s centre will be creating a party atmosphere over half term with free Carnival activities for ages 11+.

Activities run from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 February 2pm – 4pm and Friday 24 February 2pm – 9pm.

Participants can make their own Carnival masks, play Bamboo Tamboo, cook some Mardi Gras treats, take part in the Only Academy Film School, sing their favourite karaoke tunes or climb to new heights in the bouldering tunnel, all finished off with a Mardi Gras Carnival Party.

Half Term at Orange Box organiser Jamie Eagleton says,

“We came up with the Carnival idea as it is Rio Carnival in Rio de Janeiro on 24th February and Mardi Gras in New Orleans on 28th February, so we thought we’d create our own Carnival vibe at Orange Box to celebrate these events”

Another new addition is a Film School run by Only Academy, which will be a great opportunity to experience acting on camera and see what goes on behind the scenes. The young people will get a chance to make up characters and dialogue for a scene they will shoot in one afternoon.

And finally, they can also pop into one of the ukulele drop-in sessions running over the course of the week.
