Come and co-design our membership offer as we re-launch the Healthy Minds Forum!The Healthy Minds Forum is a shared space to discuss issues that matter to you in mental health, to listen, collaborate, and look at what we can do to improve the wellbeing of our communities together.​We are very excited to now be able to re-launch the Healthy Minds Forum and look forward to 2023 being a year where we re-build the ethos of this platform!

Paws for a cause with the local RSPCA and the Upper George Hotel November 26

THE RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District branch are looking forward to their Paws for a Cause event with the Upper George Hotel & Pub in Halifax (HX1 1TT) this Saturday 26th November from 12-4pm.

Lauren Moore, Fundraising Manager said “We’ve got lots of canine-themed fun planned for the day, including a mini fun dog show, doggy artwork sessions, pass the paw-cel and more!

We’re really happy our friends at the Upper George Hotel are supporting us as we approach the festive season.

All funds raised will directly help our Animal Centre on Wade Street, so we really hope you and your four-legged friends can join us!”

So far this year, the branch has successfully found homes for 79 dogs, 179 cats and 48 small animals.The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District Branch are a self-funding branch of the National RSPCA, responsible for raising money locally to support our animal welfare work.  Our main aim is to rehabilitate unwanted, abandoned and abused animals and find them loving, permanent homes. We rely on public donations and the generosity of our local community to keep the doors of our animal centre open.”

Vaccination Rollout Team attending Older Persons Day November 1st at King’s Centre

At our International Day of Older Persons Celebration event next week we will be joined by the Covid Vaccination Rollout Team who will be offering Covid Boosters and Flu Vaccinations throughout the event. There is no need to book a slot you can just pop over and see them!

We hope you will join us for an afternoon of entertainment with an opportunity to find out more about support for unpaid Carers in Calderdale.

Project Colt in Elland weekly groups

Project Colt is running the following groups each week:

Monday – Ladies Self Esteem Group. All Ladies Welcome. 10:30 – 12pm

Friday- Feel Good Friday Group. All Welcome. 11:30 -13:00

We meet together each week to spend time engaging in activities of all kinds and creating a community where people can connect. A light lunch is provided.

The LIVE NATIVITY is back!

Please come and join us down in the stable to see the animals from The Christmas Story.

It will be a little bit different this year as there are COVID precautions in place but you can be assured of a warm welcome, a warm drink, a Christmas snack and crafts to make at home for children. Come and join us on Saturday 11th December.

Carers Wellbeing Service Calderdale Launch Event

To celebrate the launch of the new service Making Space are hosting an event on:

Thursday 25th November 10am-2pm at The King’s Centre in Halifax

The event is open to carers, the person they care for and professionals. The event will provide an opportunity for you to meet the team, hear about all the support we will be offering to carers and to also find out about other services that support carers in Calderdale.

Feel free to call in for as long as you can and a buffet lunch and refreshments will be available. Coronavirus guidance will also be followed and we will be encouraging all in attendance to wear a mask.

Women of Calderdale celebrate International Women’s Day #EachforEqual

Women of Calderdale are invited to join us for a celebration of International Women’s Day 2020 on Thursday March 5th, from 11am to 2pm at Queen’s Road Neighbourhood Centre.

There will be hot buffet lunch, refreshments, free raffle as well as local services and lots of free information.

Plus an interactive workshop run by All 1 Collective & Lab and a Free Yoga taster session.
