The Council is currently working to produce a Local Plan for Calderdale. This will set out a framework for how the District will grow over the next 15 years to meet the need for new homes and jobs. It will also identify sites for proposed development, and areas that will be protected.
The consultation starts at 12 noon on Friday 6 November and runs for 6 weeks until 5pm Friday 18 December. Residents and other stakeholders will have the opportunity to comment on potential sites, and other aspects of the Local Plan, and the Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule for CIL.
We are very keen to encourage residents and others involved in the community to view the information on the Council’s website and make their comments on line, using the following links to the Local Plan page on the Council’s website.

As well as hearing from leading experts and local innovators, this half day event will mostly be about working together to identify opportunities to make healthy and sustainable food a defining characteristic of where we live and to think about how to turn that vision into reality.
The session will be followed by a light lunch and an opportunity to continue the conversation so if you would like to request an invite, contact Kerry Greenwood on Kerry.firstname.lastname@example.org or 01422 266172.

Imagine a bigger version of the shed at the bottom of the garden…
A place to pursue hobbies and interests in a friendly and welcoming environment.
And where you can enjoy a chat and a brew…
We are a group of men in Halifax looking for other men to join us in creating a place where we can get together to share and learn new skills.
Shed members share tools and skills. They choose projects to undertake and work at their own pace. Sheds can change lives, improve health and restore a sense of purpose.
