Bank Holiday Closing for Her Majesty, The Queen’s State Funeral September 19th
Please note that Calderdale Council Services will be mostly unavailable during this day.

Victoria Theatre – box office and theatre will be closed
Waste and Recycling – refuse, recycling and garden waste are cancelled, Refuse waste scheduled for Monday 19 Sept will be collected on Tuesday 20 September and collections for these services will run a day late during this week.
Recycling collections scheduled for Monday 19 September will not be re-scheduled. Please return containers to their storage point, crews will collect Monday’s recycling on Monday 26 September. Recycling collections from Tuesday 20th will be to the current schedule.
Household waste recycling centres – closed
Don’t forget your bin this Christmas!
It’s a time of year when we all have more waste and recycling which needs to be collected.
Waste and recycling collections will be on the usual day throughout Christmas week (December 27 to 31).
On the first week in January collections will be a day later than usual due to the Bank Holiday on Monday, January 3 (as New Year’s Day falls at weekend).
The Christmas and New Year waste collection dates are as follows:

Easter waste and recycling collection dates change

During the holidays, your usual waste and recycling collection dates may be affected.
Remember to check your waste and recycling collections over Christmas, as they will be on different days to usual.

Waste and Recycling Collection Dates August Bank Holiday 2018
Waste and recycling collection dates will be affected by the August Bank Holiday as below.

Garden Waste Collection Service
The Council offers a garden waste collection service. This is an opt-in service for residents who would like their garden waste collected from home, using a green wheelie bin. The service includes household garden waste; grass cuttings, leaves, hedge trimmings, flowers, twigs up to 4” in diameter, non-invasive weeds and pet bedding (rabbit or rodent only).
Bulky Household Waste Collections
We can remove your bulky household items (such as chairs, beds, tables, washing machines) from outside your house. Household items cost £25 per collection of up to 8 items, except fridges and freezers which are £25 per item.
