#BalanceforBetter on International Women’s Day

Queen’s Road Neighbourhood Centre’s annual International Women’s Day (Friday 8 March 2019) FREE event will take place on Wednesday 6 March, 11:00am-2:00pm.

This year’s theme is #BalanceforBetter. The future is exciting; let’s build a gender-balanced world.

Everyone has a part to play – all the time, everywhere. Balance drives a better working world. Let’s all help create a #BalanceforBetter.

There will be a free raffle, beauty treatments and a guest speaker – award winning local entrepreneur Razan Alsous

International Women’s Day is powered by the collective efforts of all. Collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity is what makes International Women’s Day successful.

Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained “The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.”

So make International Women’s Day your day and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women.

Hidden Figures Screening for International Women’s Day

Join Holly Lynch MP for her annual International Women’s Day film screening to raise funds for the Women Centre in Halifax on Thursday 22 Mar, 7:00pm at Red Brick Auditorium, Square Chapel Arts Centre, Halifax.

Hidden Figures (PG) is the story of three brilliant African-American women at NASA – Katherine Johnson (Taraji P.
